In a world over-full with competing voices, dubious religious authorities, high-pressure political pandering, and product jingles—a world of loud talking without much actually being said, confident-sounding voices but not generous, trustworthy, and true voices—here comes Jesus: not flashier, not louder…clearer. Compassionate. Speaking to us. My hope today is that we would flourish in the deep knowledge that God knows and calls us each by name, and that each of us would grow in our ability to distinguish the signal from all the noise.
