Prayer on a mountain. That’s where they saw Jesus rise and shine. Not a promotion but a new relationship with the ancestors who’d lived for God. Moses and Elijah appeared, two great pillars of faithful living. Imperfect people through whom God performed wonders. We don’t know what they said to Jesus. General encouragement? A good laugh? Or, was it the reminder of their friendship? Earthly life with and for God can be, at times, so lonely. The world dances to dog-eat-dog, while we attempt to dance to love God, love neighbor. But in and for this dissonance there are friends available-friends who travel in time and space. Friends at mountain tops and low valleys. Knowing friends who lived the prayers and paid the price. So like Jesus, we are at all times surrounded by such a great cloud of friends.

Amigos
Oración en una montaña. Ahí es donde vieron a Jesús levantarse y brillar. No fue una promoción sino una nueva relación con los antepasados que habían vivido para Dios. Aparecieron Moisés y Elías, dos grandes pilares de la vida en fidelidad a Dios. Personas imperfectas a través de quienes Dios realizó maravillas. No sabemos lo que le dijeron a Jesús. ¿Un consejo de amigos? ¿Una buena risa? ¿O fue el recordatorio de su amistad? La vida terrenal con y para Dios puede ser, a veces, tan solitaria. El mundo camina en un patron el el cuatl todos competimos con todoso, mientras que nosotros intentamos caminar poco a poco para amar a Dios, amar al prójimo. Pero en y para esta disonancia hay amigos disponibles; amigos que viajan en el tiempo y el espacio. Amigos en las cimas de las montañas y los valles bajos. Conocer amigos que vivieron las oraciones y pagaron el precio. Así que como Jesús, estamos en todo momento rodeados de una nube tan grande de amigos.
