Jesus said we should “pray to God to send laborers out into his harvest (Matthew 9:35-10:23). Laborers, not spectators. Christianity was always supposed to be a verb, an exertion amidst the unfamiliar. Second, the labor is out; out is where the harvest is! The church is the people called out to be out in the world for God. 

Notice among many declining and dying churches there is more “our-ness” than out-ness. One indicator of a church’s vitality is the percentage of church members engaged in some form of out-ness. 

But, Jesus doesn’t leave us out and alone.  He gives us a parting gift: authority or power. The thing is, you won’t be sure you have it until you activate with action. Then, we’re told to go to the lost–physically be with. You know who Jesus means.

Nota a la Iglesia:

Jesús dijo que debemos “pedirle a Dios que envíe obreros a su cosecha” (Mateo 9:35-10:23). Obreros, no espectadores. El Cristianismo siempre estaba supuesto a ser un verbo, un esfuerzo en medio de lo desconocido. Segundo, el trabajo está fuera. ¡Fuera es donde está la cosecha! La iglesia es la gente llamada a estar en el mundo para Dios.

Nótese que entre muchas iglesias en decadencia existe más egoísmo que proyección hacia fuera. Un indicador de la vitalidad de una iglesia es el porcentaje de miembros partícipes de alguna forma de proyección hacia fuera.

Pero, Jesús no nos deja solos. El nos da un regalo de despedida: autoridad o poder. La cuestión es que no estarás seguro que lo tienes hasta que te actives con acción. Entonces, se nos dice que vayamos con los perdidos. Ya sabes a quien se refiere Jesús.
