Settled
To grow up in Christ will make you settled. See Jesus in the wilderness being tempted by the devil. The devil makes three attempts to lure Jesus away from his identity and purpose.
Time
“…we expend time to gain space and the things of space..…” “But time,” he says, “is the heart of existence.” “The higher goal of spiritual living…is to face sacred moments.
Dangerous Oddness
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you and pray for those who abuse you.” Those are Jesus’ directives to us who call him lord.
Expectations
I know prayer and faithful action are their own reward, but expectations seem to matter with God. Expectation is the first-born child of faith, it is “the substance of things hoped for….”
Magnificent
Mary takes us on her journey with God from the personal to the communal. She has “favor” and is “blessed,” but she goes farther.
Accelerates
We need more folks like John. Maybe you’re one? People who refuse to participate in the coverup, the blind eye, the euphemisms and the polite hostility.
Repent
Change theory is a strategy, set of actions, and conditions to facilitate change. Each year, corporations and non-profit organizations alike invest multiple meeting hours and millions of dollars in an attempt to facilitate change.
Exclamation
The breaking news of Christmas can turn your heart and your home upside down, not by guilt, not by shame, but by an overwhelming, unimaginable, illogical, mind-boggling, impossible amount of good breaking news.
Witnesses
God is still looking for flesh and blood witnesses in the real world. When last did you see God move? When last did you hear from God?
Seven Miles
Go for a walk soon. Tell Jesus all your sorrow and your fears on the walk. And then just listen, open your ears, eyes and heart to him anew.
