The pages of history leap onto the vibrant canvas of Christ the King Episcopal Church and Mack Park as the community paid homage to the trailblazers of civil rights with a mural, dedicated to commemorating influential figures in civil rights, LGBTQ rights, and justice advocacy.
Members of Christ Church in Norcross offered a welcoming presence on June 1st at the 2nd annual Gwinnett Pride event. Christ Church vestry member Wes Quesenberry, who coordinated the pride event for the church, described his 55-year-old parish as open and affirming.
In Athens, Emmanuel Episcopal Church celebrated the Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe with a bilingual service attended by about 160 that included Aztec dancers and was followed by a potluck supper of Mexican dishes, said the Rev. Samuel Porras.
The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta seized the opportunity offered by this year’s resumption of in-person Pride Week to increase its longstanding support with new print ads, videos, and banners.
