In a recent video conversation, Bishop Wright and Canon for Communications Easton Davis explored For Faith and the new direction of the bishop’s weekly devotional, launching January 9, 2026. The videos will be available every Friday morning at 9a across Bishop Wright’s social channels.
Bishop Wright: What innovation is coming with my weekly devotional, For Faith?
Canon Easton Davis: For Faith is expanding into a short-form video format. To be clear, the devotional will remain a written offering for our email subscribers—we’re simply adding video as a companion. This new format allows us to reach beyond text and connect with people through spoken word and art.
Bishop Wright: Why the new direction?
Canon Easton Davis: We have to make digital spaces the new red front doors of our congregations and ministries. People are increasingly engaging faith content through video, often on their phones. This shift allows For Faith to remain spiritually grounded while becoming more adaptable, invitational, and visible to people who might not otherwise encounter it.
Bishop Wright: What learnings led to this shift?
Canon Easton Davis: It’s data-driven. The For People podcast is approaching 400,000 all-time downloads and has been heard in more than 5,000 cities across 100 countries. Our short-form podcast videos have received hundreds of thousands of views. For Faith has always been text-based, and this companion video format helps us share God’s love as widely as possible.
By prioritizing video alongside written content, we’re meeting people where they already are. As you’re scrolling and see it, share it. This is an opportunity to proclaim a God of welcome, justice, and a love big enough for every single human being.
