Suspense is part of faith in God. The suspense for us isn’t “if” there’s God but “how” will God choose to be God. And, on what timeline will God bring things to a resolution? With those timeless and legitimate questions, still, we have decided and have been graced with the ability to trust God. Even the most faithful among us will periodically feel like life with God is one big anxious disorientation and delay. Folks asked Jesus, “How long will you keep us in suspense… Are you the Messiah…?” Jesus answered, “I have told you and you do not believe….” Attempting to eradicate the suspense of faith with rejection, frail formulas, or candy-coated certitudes is to dilute and eradicate the very thing that we know pleases God: faith! Trust in God makes suspense with God doable! Let us trust in who Jesus says he is and let us find new joy in our dependence on God as we live his reliable coordinates to new life.

Suspenso
El suspenso es parte de la fe en Dios. El suspenso para nosotros no es “si” hay Dios, sino “cómo” Dios ejercerá su poder para ser Dios. Y, en qué tiempo Dios nos mostrará una resolución. Con esas preguntas atemporales y legítimas, aún así, hemos decidido y hemos sido agraciados con la capacidad de confiar en Dios. Incluso los más fieles entre nosotros periódicamente sentirán una gran desorientación y una espera ansiosa en su caminar con Dios. La gente le preguntó a Jesús: “¿Cuánto tiempo nos mantendrás en suspenso… eres tú el Mesías…?” Jesús le respondió: «Se los he dicho y no creen…». Tratar de erradicar el suspenso de la fe con rechazo, fórmulas frágiles o verdades suavizadas es diluir y erradicar la misma cosa que sabemos que agrada a Dios: ¡Fe! ¡La confianza plena en Dios hace que el suspenso con Dios sea más llevadero! Confiemos en quien Jesús dice que es y encontremos nueva alegría en nuestra dependencia de Dios mientras vivimos siguiendo sus pasos hacia una nueva vida.
