Blessed

Being blessed isn’t a magical idea. In large part, it’s about tapping into the power grid that God has graciously arranged for all of us to enjoy. Nowhere is this clearer than in the poetry of Psalm 1. There the poet introduces some to and refreshes others with directions to blessedness. Blessedness is as simple as remembering from whom not to get advice or hang out with or not getting comfortable with scornfulness, quite a task these days. Being blessed is about what delights you. The poet tells us that the blessed will delight in the advice, guidance and direction of the Lord. And, that those life-making and life-saving precepts will dance in our imaginations during the day and in the midnight hour. Without guilt, condemnation or shame, does that describe you? If not, then let that be a reflection point for you for the next couple of weeks. After all, the point of the psalm is to commend joyous and continued concern with the guidance of God.

Dichoso

Ser dichoso no es una idea mágica. En gran parte, se trata de aprovechar la energía de la red de poder que Dios ha puesto misericordiosamente para que todos la disfrutemos. En ningún otro lado es más claro esto que en la poesía de Salmos 1. Allí el poeta presenta a algunos y les recuerda a otros con direcciones hacia la dicha. La dicha es tan simple como recordar de quién no recibir consejos o con quién no convivir o no sentirse cómodo con el desprecio, una gran tarea en estos días. Ser dichoso se trata de lo que te deleita. El poeta nos dice que los dichosos se deleitarán con los consejos, la guía y la dirección del Señor. Y que esos preceptos que dan vida y que salvan vidas danzarán en nuestra imaginación durante el día y la medianoche. Sin culpa, condenación o vergüenza, ¿eso te describe? Si no, entonces deja que eso sea un punto de reflexión para ti durante las próximas semanas. Después de todo, el objetivo del salmo es elogiar la preocupación gozosa y continua con la guianza de Dios.
