The Middle Georgia community is cordially invited to participate in the Macon Martyrs Remembrance Ceremony at the historic Douglass Theatre.

The names of 15 Black men lynched in Middle Georgia between 1886 and 1922 will be called.

The commemoration marks the 10th anniversary since the permanent bronze marker was installed by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.

The liturgy will include traditional African libation and bell ringing.

An informal lobby reception will follow the ceremony.

This event is free. No RSVP is required.
