Keynote Panel: “Faith When Democracy Betrays Its Promise: Law, Lament, and the Work of Justice”
What Shall I Render? The Installation of Dean Terrence L. Johnson
Events are in person.
A panel of internationally respected scholars will invite attendees to consider what theology teaches when individual and collective suffering is intensified by state violence, public betrayal, and economic injustice. Panelists will examine themes of prophetic witness, social holiness, public responsibility, and the Ignatian call to become “contemplatives in action.” How can public theologians, clergy, and scholars guide communities to discern truth, resist despair, and act with courage, mercy, and justice?
