The Bible is timeless because humans are consistent. That is why the letters that Paul wrote to groups of people a long time ago should be read and studied today. Are we really so evolved now, with all of our technology, that we don’t need phrases like, “knowledge puffs up, but love builds up”? Societal advances need to be in dialogue with ancient learnings, especially about the pitfalls of human pride versus the promotion of communal well-being. Real knowledge, according to Paul, is that all human knowledge is partial and evolving while the very best of knowledge knows there’s “no failure in love.” Love is the best building material. Love is at the same time, the right mass, buoyancy, elasticity and rigidity for every situation. Love is God’s best and most adaptive technology.
