Not exactly sure when I learned the words of the 23rd Psalm. I do know that my wife and I were careful to teach it to our children. I know as life has grown and become more complex, the words “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil,” have been a companion and strength to me. Then there is that part about “goodness and mercy following” us that always blesses my ears. Especially now that I know the better translation of that is, “…goodness and mercy are pursuing us.” Thank God!

Persiguiendo
No sé exactamente cuando aprendí las palabras del Salmo 23. Sé que mi esposa y yo tuvimos cuidado al enseñárselo a nuestros hijos. Sé que a medida que la vida ha crecido y se ha vuelto más compleja, las palabras “Aun si voy por valles tenebrosos, no temo peligro alguno”, han sido mi compañía y mi fortaleza. Luego está esa parte sobre “la bondad y la misericordia me seguirán” que siempre bendice mis oídos. Especialmente ahora que sé que la mejor traducción de eso es: “… la bondad y la misericordia nos persiguen”. ¡Gracias a Dios!
