In a moment of doubt, God told Abraham to go outside and count the stars. God did this, it seems, because nothing breaks our sad resignation and lack of imagination like connecting to God’s vastness. Big is who God is. And, big is who God is calling us to be. That means not surrendering to the smallness that steals from us what God would do in us and through us. It might sound silly to some, but count the stars, count the pine trees that line our highways, count your blessings. Lift your chin and appreciate the awesomeness of your God.

En un momento de duda, Dios le dijo a Abraham que saliera y contara las estrellas. Al parecer, Dios hizo esto porque nada rompe nuestra triste resignación y falta de imaginación como el conectarnos con la inmensidad de Dios. Grande es quien es Dios. Y grandes somos quienes Dios nos llama a ser. Eso significa no rendirnos a la pequeñez que nos roba lo que Dios haría en nosotros y por medio de nosotros. Puede parecer una tontería para algunos, pero cuenta las estrellas, cuenta los pinos que bordean nuestras carreteras, cuenta tus bendiciones. Levanta la barbilla y aprecia la maravilla de tu Dios.
