“On a cosmic level, despite all of the pain, evil and degradation in the world, like many people, I nevertheless believe that the universe is ultimately tilted toward good. This is what Dr. King meant when he said that ‘the moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice.’  Another way to say that is ‘anything and everything that is not love is made of inferior building material and, therefore, isn’t essentially durable enough to make it into a good future.’ And so, if you and I are committed to a good future for ourselves and for the world, we have the cosmic assurance today that we are in concert with the universe.”
