Through the love and generosity of congregations throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, the Church of the Common Ground will soon celebrate its 10th Anniversary.
As a worshiping community on the streets of downtown Atlanta, Church of the Common Ground was “born” on Christmas Eve, 2006 in Woodruff Park. It offers weekly Holy Eucharist, morning prayer, bible study and a foot clinic for its parishioners—who navigate mental and physical illness, lack of affordable housing and family support, abuse, and multiple challenges of urban life.
The Rev. Ashley Lytle, Curate at Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur, is serving Church of the Common Ground as priest-in-charge while Vicar Mary Wetzel is on sabbatical.
The church is making a special appeal for “10th Anniversary Friends” to join weekly worship and fellowship, send donations, or offer other support to help sustain this ministry. Watch for pledge cards mailed to churches, or contact Ashley at lytle@htparish.com to find out more.
Will you join the celebration of “loving like Jesus” at Church of the Common Ground? Mark your calendars now for Christmas Eve worship, December 24 at 1 p.m. in Woodruff Park. All are welcome!
