Jesus’ words and example cause us to stand. He calls to us and our bent over, broken and beleaguered days lose their death grip. His will for us overcomes our weariness. He stands for us and we can stand. We stand up because he stands beside us — in our fear, despair, sins and confusion. For all this, there is one request: That we would comfort others as we have been comforted. That we would share the coordinates of our new freedom. That having been given strength to stand we would lend our strength to another, especially the ones who struggle to stand.

Las palabras y el ejemplo de Jesús nos hacen levantar. Él nos llama, y nuestros días desdoblados, rotos, y saciados pierden su apretón mortal. Su voluntad hacia nosotros supera nuestro cansancio. Él está con nosotros y por eso nos podemos levantar. Nos levantamos porque Él está a nuestro lado — en nuestro miedo, desesperación, pecados, y confusión. Por todo esto hay una petición: Que consolemos a otros, así como nos han consolado a nosotros. Que compartamos las coordinadas de nuestra libertad. Que después de haber recibido la fuerza se la prestemos a otros, especialmente a los que les da dificultad levantarse.
