#7 We Believe!
We believe sorrow is a part of life. We know that to deny feelings of loss and sadness will ultimately injure us and our society.
Unimpressed
God measures strength differently than the world. God takes pleasure in those who have such a heightened awareness of God that they respect, reverence, and worship God.
Enough
The collected wisdom of innumerable men and women for millennia is that only God is enough! When we envelope ourselves in God’s enough-ness, God brings the beauty out of our inherently human inadequacies and we find growth and rest.
Then/Now
Sometimes even rocks that refuse God’s opening acts. Ironic, considering the thirst-quenching won’t come until the rock opens. God can refresh us in ways that will astound us if we will let God’s gracious acts open us.
Go
Our lives are a gift from God and there is no higher form of worship than to respond to that gift by offering oneself to the adventures of God.
Consider
If we were able to listen in on your prayer time with God, would it contain much praise? Not to worry if there is some deferred maintenance in your praise life, Psalm 8 comes as a friend to point us in the right direction.
Enjoy
It can all be so exhausting: life, livelihood, striving, even spirituality with its laundry list of how to be. Maybe that’s why Psalm 130 is one of my favorites. The poet seems to want one thing, to enjoy God! When last did you just enjoy God? The fact of God? The way God chooses to be God as made clear in Jesus’ doings and sayings? Psalm 130 invites you to breathe and put your shoulders down as it hums to you, there’s no place too deep for God to reach you. God hears and forgives. Plant your hope in God’s garden.
