Bishop Wright has called Jessica LeFiles to serve as Executive Director of Mikell Camp and Conference Center, following a search led by the Mikell Board of Governors. Jessi will begin on September 1, 2024.
“I thank God for the good work of the Mikell Search Committee under the leadership of Board Chair Dan Murphy. Our new executive director Jessi is the right person at this time. Her many gifts will serve Mikell, the diocese and thousands seeking God and community well.”

“I’m thrilled to have Jessi LeFiles leading Mikell Camp and Conference Center. She is insightful and mission-driven, with a passion for camp ministry and for Mikell. With Jessi in this position, Mikell is poised to continue growing its ministry of holy hospitality in The Diocese of Atlanta and beyond.”
~Dan Murphy, Mikell Board Chair
Jessi previously served at Mikell as instructor, assistant director, and director of Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center. She returns to Mikell with a strong record of leadership in other camps and the outdoor service industry, including serving as the Director of Camp Henry for The Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina from 2020-2023.
Jessi is a gifted relationship builder, financial and risk manager, and organization storyteller. She and her husband Brice have two daughters — Anna, 5, and Emily, 3 — who are excited to spend hours in the creek at Mikell!
“I am honored to have been called as the next Executive Director of Mikell. In many ways, this feels like a homecoming for my family and I. Mikell is where my husband Brice and I started our careers out of college, married, and where we baptized our first child. As I look to Mikell’s future, I am excited to be able to steward this special place and the wonderful folks that surround it for many years to come, and am excited to continue to grow Mikell’s mission of building a community of belonging, safety, discovery, spiritual growth, and unconditional love.”
