Residing in the basements of two church locations since its inception in 1981, The Christ Church Thrift Shop now has a bright, open, welcoming space to call home. The well-known Thrift Shop serves as a vital ministry to the Norcross community, providing gently used clothing and household items at reasonable prices and a source of income for the ministries supported by the church.
The new location is still on the church campus, but the 2022 sale of the church office building necessitated its move from the basement of the offices. After considering several locations including the idea of moving the shop off-site, the current Vestry decided to renovate the middle level of the church’s Activities Building to create a space that has allowed the shop to expand and offers more room for clothing and shoe racks, as well as separate rooms for household items and books. Technically on the second floor of the building, the new space could still be considered a basement; however, a wall of windows overlooking the rear woods of the church property make the space feel more like a tree house and much less like the concrete basement.
The Thrift Shop Manager, Rosa Hernandez, and her devoted volunteer staff are thrilled with the enhanced opportunity this new space affords the church’s outreach efforts. Visit the new space at 400 Holcomb Bridge Road, Norcross, GA 30071 and tell your friends!
