Annual “Go! Summit” for Local and Global Mission Will Focus on Faithfully Responding to Climate Change as 21st Century Discipleship

Feb 21, 2020

If the old Diocesan Ministry Fair and the annual Global Mission Conference had a baby, it would be the Go Summit: Local and Global Mission in the Diocese of Atlanta.

This year, Global Missions’ annual Go! Summit will explore faithfully responding to climate change on local and global levels as 21st century discipleship. The one-day event, on Sat., March 7 at All Saints’ in Atlanta, will feature The Rev. Kate McGregor Mosley (see bio below), Executive Director of Georgia Interfaith Power and Light, panel discussions, and breakout sessions. Please encourage those in your ministry with big ideas, dreams, frustrations, and questions to register and attend. Clergy that attend will receive 5 Contact Hours toward their Continuing Education credits. Please register here.

Please share with your parishes and put in the bulletin. A flyer for this purpose can be downloaded here.

Price: $20 per person
$15 for students and seminarians
If in need of financial assistance, please contact the Rev. Canon John Thompson-Quartey at jthompsonquartey@episcopalatlanta.org

Afternoon breakout panel sessions will be led by:
Dwayne Patterson: Vice President for Strategy and Engagement at The Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE), which focuses on community-based ways to achieve equity and inclusion in the American South
David Stooksbury: Environmental scientist and professor at UGA. Diocesan Creation Care Coordinator. Attends St. Gregory the Great in Athens.
John Wierwille: Owner of Ewe Can Do it Naturally, a company that uses sheep for weed control and defoliation. Attends Church of the Epiphany in Atlanta.

You can make others aware of your ministry, organization, or idea by setting up a display at no charge on the tables provided at All Saints. (Please indicate when you register if you’d like to have a display.) Advance registration is $20 per person and includes lunch.
