“The Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind.” And here’s how the Lord began the answers: “Who,” “Where” and “Can.” “Who determined the measurements of the earth’s foundation?” “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?” “And, can you direct the lightning strike?” The point being, though our suffering shakes us to our core, the answer out of the “whirlwind” of our circumstances is that God is Almighty! And, just because our suffering is not relieved on our timetable does not mean God is lacking in power. The truth of Job’s story and ours is a great paradox, it is in the “whirlwind” of troubles where we experience the depth of our frailty and height of God’s forever-ness. It is in the “whirlwind” where we find out that God is more real than our afflictions.

Torbellino
“El Señor respondió a Job desde el torbellino”. Y así es como el Señor comenzó las respuestas: “Quién”, “Dónde” y “Puedes”. ¿Quién determinó las medidas de los cimientos de la tierra? “¿Dónde estabas tú cuando puse los cimientos de la tierra?” —¿Y puedes dirigir el impacto del rayo? El punto es que, aunque nuestro sufrimiento nos sacude hasta la médula, la respuesta del “torbellino” de nuestras circunstancias es que ¡Dios es Todopoderoso! Y el hecho de que nuestro sufrimiento no se alivie en nuestro horario no significa que Dios carezca de poder. La verdad de la historia de Job y la nuestra es una gran paradoja, es en el “torbellino” de los problemas donde experimentamos la profundidad de nuestra fragilidad y la altura de la eternidad de Dios. Es en el “torbellino” donde descubrimos que Dios es más real que nuestras aflicciones.
