The Bible treats us to a story of a woman with faith-agency. Faith-agency is the perfect balance between weekend praying and weekday doing. She’s not from the right tribe or tradition but she had a righteous cause. Healing for her sick child was all she wanted. She used her voice, her persistence and her understanding of the audacious mercy of God. For that, she was scorned by Jesus and his friends. We’d call her resilient these days. Her unrelenting faith made Jesus a better Messiah that day and secured healing for her child. Funny, how unideal circumstances are the anvil where ideal faith is forged.

No Ideal
