Maybe we’ve prayed over time for God to act in our lives. Maybe we’re praying for God to dramatically intervene in the madness of the world. St. Peter encourages us as we wonder and wait. He says, “…a thousand years is like a day to the Lord.” He wants us to know that the way God does time has a magnanimous purpose! Patience is what God is exercising not abandonment as we wait, wonder, and cry, “How long O God?” Time is the anvil God uses to make a faithful soul. And time is the technology God uses to hold space for those yet to even consider the grace of God already available to them.

Tiempo
Tal vez hemos orado con el tiempo para que Dios actúe en nuestras vidas. Tal vez estamos orando para que Dios intervenga dramáticamente en los problemas difíciles que enfrentamos en este mundo. San Pedro nos anima a que nos preguntemos y esperemos. Nos dice: «Mil años es como un día para el Señor». ¡Quiere que sepamos que la manera en que Dios hace el tiempo tiene un propósito magnánimo! La paciencia es lo que Dios está ejerciendo, no el abandono mientras esperamos, nos asombramos, y gritamos, «¿Cuánto tiempo más, oh Dios?» El tiempo es el yunque que Dios usa para hacer un alma fiel. Y el tiempo es la tecnología que Dios usa para mantener espacio para aquellos que aún no consideran que la gracia de Dios ya está disponible para ellos.
