If you’re going to have an intimate and active life with God, you’re going to have to say no to three things: smallness, separateness and superiority. You’re going to have to realize that we are a human family; that we live together on a blue ball made mostly of water, suspended in space. What affects one directly affects all indirectly. I love the way your school song puts it: “Inspire each mind and fire each heart to set imagination free; raise strength to skill, and nourish art, yet may all gifts be understood as valued for the common good.” Don’t bury your talents in the ground because of fear, Jesus says. Offer your talents to the world and watch them multiply. Offer them boldly, transparently, authentically. There’s no higher form of worship than that. Let a little light in and watch your soul grow. Let a little light out and watch the world grow. Don’t be afraid to shine. You were designed to shine.

Si vas a tener una vida íntima y activa con Dios, tendrás que decir no a tres cosas: pequeñez, separación y superioridad. Tendrás que darte cuenta de que somos una familia humana; que vivimos juntos en una bola azul hecha principalmente de agua, suspendida en el espacio. Lo que afecta a uno directamente afecta a todos indirectamente. Me encanta la manera en que la canción de su escuela lo expresa: “inspira cada mente e impulsa cada corazón para liberar la imaginación; aumenta la fuerza de la habilidad y alimenta el arte, sin embargo, que todos los dones se entiendan como valorados para el bien común”. No entierres tus talentos por miedo, dice Jesús. Ofrece tus talentos al mundo y míralos multiplicarse. Ofrécelos con audacia, transparencia y autenticidad. No hay forma de adoración más alta que esa. Deja entrar un poco de luz y mira crecer tu alma. Deja salir un poco de luz y observa cómo crece el mundo. No tengas miedo de brillar. Fuiste diseñado para brillar.
