Before Jesus asked his friends to find a donkey to lead his poor peoples palm branch parade, he stood at an intersection. It’s the same intersection we find ourselves at now. This intersection has four corners and each corner has a name: faith, fear, trust and retreat. Jesus’ decision at this intersection has caused the world to know his name, commend his example and trust his power. As Jesus’ friends we choose faith at our life intersections. But not only faith, we choose trust! Trust because we have a track record with God. Trust remembers the times when God was trustworthy. Trust is what faith wears to make a difference! Jesus knew simple belief in the reality of God’s existence couldn’t adequately showcase the power of God in the real world. Only a soul trusting God does that. The dictionary puts it like this: Trust is: “firm belief in the reliability, truth, strength and ability of….” So we stand at this intersection called pandemic and we state now what we, by the grace of God, will say boldly when COVID-19 is defeated:
“But as for me, I have trusted in you, O Lord.”
