He couldn’t see Jesus because of the crowd so he climbed a tree. Jesus saw him and asked him to “…come down.” This is Jesus’ pattern then and now. He locates us and then asks us to leave the distances we have created and come near to him. But not only that, Jesus wants to go to his house for a meal! The man happily agrees but some in the crowd watching, “grumbled.” I wonder how many there are out there who would come to Jesus but are reluctant because of the grumblers in their lives. The grumblers hope to entomb us in our past mistakes and misdeeds. Jesus hopes to enshrine us in the gift of new life. That man turned a deaf ear to the grumblers that day, closed the distance between him and Jesus, and it changed everything. More of this Lord, more of this!

Murmurantes
Él no podía ver a Jesús debido a la multitud, así que subió a un árbol. Jesús lo vio y le pidió que “bajara”. Este ha sido el patrón de Jesús para nuestras vidas. Él nos localiza y luego nos pide que dejemos las barreras que hemos creado y nos acerquemos a él. ¡Pero no sólo eso, Jesús quiere ir a su casa para cenar! El hombre concuerda felizmente, pero algunos en la multitud, «murmuraron». Me pregunto cuántos hay allá en el mundo que vendrían a Jesús, pero están renuentes debido a los murmurantes en sus vidas. Los murmurantes esperan entrometerse en nuestros errores y travesuras del pasado. Jesús espera consagrarnos en el don de una vida nueva.
