“Kids these days..” We hear it often. What if we changed the tone to one of rejoicing when we say that line? Maybe our kids are onto something. Of late, their ability to accept others’ style, viewpoint, and preferences seem to exceed that of some adults; It’s more than just tolerance. John and Jesus show us that there is more than one means to connecting with God. Jesus even mocks those who proclaim that they are “right.” Thank God for the youth who call us to diverse action and a spectrum of expression as Jesus and John did, even if they were not always understood. Human diversity is always clamoring to catch up to divine diversity. See, judgment limits God, who is infinitely diverse. Catching up to divine diversity might mean a change in tone; celebrating instead of condemning, listening instead of talking, noticing instead of turning away. Let’s follow their lead. We might just find rest for our souls.

Diversidad Divina
«Los niños en estos días».. Lo escuchamos a menudo. ¿Y qué pasaría si cambiamos el tono a uno de regocijo cuando decimos esa frase? Tal vez nuestros hijos están en algo correcto. Últimamente, su capacidad de aceptar el estilo, el punto de vista y las preferencias de otros parecen exceder la de algunos adultos; Es más que simplemente tolerancia. Juan y Jesús nos muestran que hay más de una manera para conectar con Dios. Jesús incluso se burla de los que proclaman que tienen la «razón». Gracias a Dios por los jóvenes que nos llaman a la actuar diversamente y a una amplia gama de expresión como lo hicieron Jesús y Juan, aunque no siempre se entendieron. La diversidad humana siempre está clamando para ponerse al día con la diversidad divina. Es cierto, el juicio limita a Dios, que es infinitamente diverso. Alcanzar la diversidad divina podría significar un cambio de tono; celebrar en lugar de condenar, escuchar en lugar de hablar, notar en lugar de apartar. Sigamos su ejemplo. Así podríamos encontrar descanso para nuestras almas.
