“Seek the peace of the city. Pray for peace in the city. Your peace is tied up in the peace of the city.” This is what God told Jeremiah. There’s no real well-being until well-being reaches all segments of the population. This idea runs counter to our gated community efforts. It runs counter to our short-sighted emphasis on clique, club and clan. Our destinies are tied up together like the underground roots of an orchard. There will never be enough money, security or guns to keep opportunity- and necessity-starved masses at bay.
Ciudad
“Busca la paz de la ciudad. Ora por la paz en la ciudad. Tu paz está ligada a la paz de la ciudad ”. Esto es lo que Dios le dijo a Jeremías. No hay bienestar real hasta que el bienestar llegue a todos los segmentos de la población. Esta idea va en contra de nuestros esfuerzos de una comunidad cerrada. Va en contra de nuestro énfasis miope en el grupo, el club y el clan. Nuestros destinos están unidos como las raíces subterráneas de un huerto. Nunca habrá suficiente dinero, seguridad o armas para mantener acorraladas a las masas hambrientas de oportunidades y necesidades.
