New life is within sight. Out of God’s compassion, we are not doomed to be lost always. Neither are we condemned to the darknesses we have chosen or that has befallen us. This new sight does have a cost, that’s how God works. The cost isn’t a toll, a fine, it’s a sign of willingness. A choice to shift our attention. Often we say that we are willing to change more than that is actually true. For sure, that is just part of being a human being. Still, when real readiness comes to us and we shift our attention to God, that is when the eyes open and the change begins. St. Peter says this kind of message is “prophetic.” (Prophetic: something so deeply true now that it also shows up in the future.) That, if we will be “attentive” to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ like “a lamp shining in a dark place…,” then we will find our way through the myths and deceptions of this world, back to ourselves, and the truth of the glory of God.

Nueva Vida está a la vista. Por la compasión de Dios no estamos condenados a perdernos siempre. Tampoco estamos condenados a las tinieblas que hemos elegido o que nos han sobrevenido. Esta nueva visión tiene un costo, así es como Dios obra. El costo no es un peaje, una multa, es una señal de voluntad. Una elección para cambiar nuestra atención. A menudo decimos que estamos dispuestos a cambiar más de lo que realmente es cierto. Por supuesto, eso es solo parte de ser humano. Aún así, cuando la verdadera preparación viene a nosotros y cambiamos nuestra atención a Dios es cuando los ojos se abren y comienza el cambio. San Pedro dice que este tipo de mensaje es “profético”. (Profético: Algo tan profundamente cierto ahora que también aparece en el futuro.)
