You are invited to attend a workshop on engaging intercultural conflict in the work of racial healing with Heidi J. Kim, a lay leader in The Episcopal Church.
Ministries of racial healing and justice-making often involve faithful people with widely divergent histories of engaging systemic racism and white supremacy. How do we balance the need for greater knowledge and understanding with the need for urgent action? Where are we able to develop authentic and equitable relationships with individuals and communities whose experiences differ from our own? In the face of so much trauma and urgent need, where can we enter with love and courage? This workshop invites participants to deepen their vocational call in the ministry of racial healing and justice-making by interrogating the intellectual, experiential, and spiritual conflicts that can impede our ability to move forward.
This event is hosted by Drs. Ellen Ott Marshall and Kyle Lambelet, sponsored by the Justice, Peacebuilding, and Conflict Transformation concentration at Candler School of Theology, with funding provided by the Louisville Foundation. Email Janelle Moore at jladam3@emory.edu with any questions.
