Take part in a screening of The Philadelphia Eleven, a documentary film about the first women who were ordained as priests in The Episcopal Church almost 50 years ago. Their ordination was considered an act of civil disobedience, with some experiencing harassment or being banned from entering churches. And yet, their actions also catapulted the denomination to reconsider its ban on women’s ordination, eventually changing the landscape of who could get ordained in The Episcopal Church.
A discussion with panelists at the forefront of women’s ordination in The Episcopal Church will follow the screening and refreshments will be served.
