Remember, God the Author of the Big Bang; the One who hangs galaxies like we hang Christmas ornaments, with all power and wisdom at God’s disposal intervened in human history? Not with a conquering army. Not by placing controls on individual freedoms. Not by demanding love and adoration. But, by coming to this dog-eat-dog world, dispatched from heaven by love, armored only in standard-issue flesh. Clothed in tenderness. Determined that kindness knows no shame. Without pedigree or pretense. This is the genius of God we commemorate in Christmas. This is how God brings newness and how God delivers transformative doses of tenderness that are changing us and changing the world. God has and is reaching out to us exactly where we are…love enfleshed to overthrow everything that is not love. Love wrapped in flesh to accomplish a dream.

Recuerda, Dios el Autor del Big Bang. ¿El que cuelga galaxias como colgamos decoraciones navideñas, con todo el poder y la sabiduría a disposición de Dios intervino en la historia humana? No con un ejército conquistador. No colocando controles sobre las libertades individuales. No exigiendo amor y adoración. Pero, al venir a este mundo de perro come perro, despachado del cielo por amor, armado sólo con piel estándar. Vestido en ternura. Determinado que la bondad no tiene vergüenza. Sin pedigrí ni pretensión. Este es el genio de Dios que conmemoramos en Navidad. Así es como Dios trae la novedad y como Dios entrega dosis transformadoras de ternura que nos están cambiando y cambiando el mundo. Dios tiene y está llegando a nosotros exactamente donde estamos…amor encerrado para derrocar todo lo que no es amor. Amor envuelto en carne para lograr un sueño.
