Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday should fall on the same day every year! After all, both are about the heart. Valentine’s Day gives us an occasion to show our heart to others. And, Ash Wednesday inaugurates a season to examine our hearts. Since we challenge ourselves to love like Jesus, we can take three steps over the next 40 days: examine the ways in which we presently love, identify opportunities to increase in love and ask God’s help going forward to radiate love in the real world. Neither Ash Wednesday nor Valentine’s Day promise any magic. Still, both give us an occasion to offer our heart to the Heart of the Universe.

Corazones: Un mensaje para el Miércoles de Ceniza

¡El Día de San Valentín y el Miércoles de Ceniza deberían caer en el mismo día todos los años! Después de todo, ambos son sobre el corazón. El Día de San Valentín nos da una ocasión para mostrar nuestro corazón a los demás. Y, el Miércoles de Ceniza inaugura la temporada para examinar nuestros corazones. Como desafiamos a amar como Jesús, podemos tomar tres pasos durante los siguientes 40 días: examinar la formas en las que presentamos el amor, identificar oportunidades de aumentar el amor y pedir la ayuda de Dios para irradiar amor en el mundo real. Ni el Miércoles de Ceniza ni el Dia de San Valentín prometen magia, sin embargo ambos nos dan una ocasión para ofrecer nuestro corazón al Corazón del Universo.
