At the beginning of this New Year people are listening intently to hear God speak. Whether for guidance, courage or consolation we say to ourselves, “If God will only speak, then I will know. Then, I will act.” But, God has never stopped speaking! God’s most profound words – life altering words – are buried deep in our own hearts. Buried under a mountain of “should have,” “would have” and “could have.” Buried under fear. Like lightning, in the midst of clouds, “The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.” And God’s words like lightening generates enough heat and light to warm, brighten and alter.
DESTELLOS DE FÉ
Al comienzo de este año la gente está escuchando atentamente por la palabra de Dios. Sea por dirección, valor, o por consuelo nos decimos a nosotros mismos, “Si Dios me habla, entonces lo sabré y actuaré”. ¡Pero Dios nunca ha dejado de hablar! Las palabras más profundas de Dios, palabras que pueden cambiar la vida, están enterradas profundamente en nuestros corazones; enterradas bajo una montana de “debería,” “habría” y “podría.” Enterradas bajo el miedo. Como relámpago en medio de las nubes, “La voz del Señor levanta llamas de fuego”, y las palabras de Dios, como relámpagos generan suficiente calor y luz para calentar, alumbrar y cambiar.
