The Rev. Pauline Samuel is proud to serve as the first female Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Atlanta, the oldest historically Black Episcopal church in the state of Georgia. Prior to relocating to Atlanta in 2021, she served in the Diocese of Long Island where she also grew up and received her call to ordained ministry.
Pauline earned her MDiv from Yale Divinity School. While in seminary she served as Vice President of the Yale Black Seminarians and continues to serve as a Class Agent for the Alumni Fund. She also serves on the Council of Advice for the Office of African Descent Ministries of The Episcopal Church.
Pauline is a native New Yorker from the borough of Brooklyn, but her roots are in the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and St. Vincent & The Grenadines. She has a great love of books, and sports, and is an avid foodie.
What Pauline enjoys most about her work as a parish priest is spending time listening and getting to know her parishioners, baptisms, Christian formation, and creating content for the church’s social media pages.
