They knew what they did to him, so they lived in fear. When they met they wondered, “…will he bear a grudge? Will he get his revenge?” They were famine refugees. He was the second in command in Egypt! They brought only the dying words of their father, “forgive your brothers,” to the meeting. In that moment Joseph’s pain could have directed him to vengeance, but here’s what happened….Joseph said, “don’t be afraid, am I in the place of God?” Joseph remembered mercy and forgiveness are specific applications of power. The Bible doesn’t give us a sense of Joseph’s interior journey to this moment. We just know in that moment he directed his pain to use his power for restoration and not a recitation of injuries. For Joseph, the matter was settled.

Hay un peso que todos nosotros estamos sintiendo. Se hace más pesado todos los días. Es el plástico que Sabían lo que le hicieron, así que vivían con miedo. El escucho palabras en el lecho de muerte de su padre, «perdona a tus hermanos», en su encuentro. En ese momento el dolor de José pudo haberlo dirigido a la venganza, pero aquí está lo que sucedió… José dijo, «no tengan miedo, ¿Estoy en el lugar de Dios?» José recordó, la misericordia y el perdón son implicaciones específicas del poder. La Biblia no nos muestra el proceso interior de sanación que llevo a José a este momento. Sólo sabemos que en ese momento decidió utilizar su dolor para una verdadera restauración, no para un juicio sobre las injusticias que recibió de ellos en el pasado. Para José, el asunto estaba resuelto.
