We talk about God as being Almighty-matchless in power! Think of God also as having the greatest range-peerless in scope, span, and sweep of love. Cue the Diana Ross hit, “Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough… to keep me from you.” That’s what Jesus shows us, range! He reaches, stretches, and extends himself to us. His spiritual range of motion is superior! How’s your range of motion these days? If we aren’t intentional about exercising our faith muscles they will seize and atrophy. And our range of compassion, neighborliness, and spiritual maturity will be severely restricted. Fear tightens the body and the spirit while faith lengthens everything good. Remember the physical therapy St. Paul prescribed for us, “I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward — to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”
