SUMMARY:Sponsor the Hymn-A-Thon and Send Our Choristers to New York
DESCRIPTION:Our Junior and Senior Choristers will visit New York City in January to participate in the annual Chorister Festival at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine. This unique fundraising event will aid in their travel expenses. Beginning at 9 a.m.\, join the choirs of St. Luke’s as they sing THE HYMNAL 1982. Yes\, all 720 hymns. Our organists are ready to go\, and the Alston Memorial Organ is\, too. Coffee\, water\, and refreshments will be available throughout the day\, so feel free to come and go as you wish. \nHow it works: Anyone can sponsor the Hymn-A-Thon at any level. Maybe it’s 10¢ per hymn ($72)\, or 25¢ per hymn ($180)\, or even $1 per hymn ($720). You can also dedicate a hymn for a $100 sponsorship. The dedication will be announced before the hymn is sung. For example\, “Hymn 657\, Love divine all loves excelling\, is sung in honor of (N.) by (N.).” This is a wonderful way to honor or remember a friend or loved one. \nSponsor \nContact: Matthew Michael Brown\, music@stlukesatlanta.org

SUMMARY:Living Postcolonial Anglicanism: Prospects for a Polycentric Anglican Communion
DESCRIPTION:The Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) invites you to a day-long public symposium\, “Living Postcolonial Anglicanism: Prospects for a Polycentric Anglican Communion\,” right here in Atlanta! \nOn Friday\, November 7\, 2025 at St. Luke’s\, Atlanta\, you can join leaders from ten countries across the global Anglican Communion\, along with U.S. clergy and lay leaders\, to discuss the exciting and challenging shifts happening in our church. \nWhy this matters: Anglicanism is experiencing a significant demographic shift\, with its center of gravity moving toward Africa\, Asia\, and Latin America. This symposium will tackle essential topics like women’s leadership\, self-determination of Indigenous peoples\, ecojustice\, human sexuality\, and how we reimagine the structures of the Communion in light of these global changes. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from international scholars as they explore what a more pluralistic\, embodied\, and freeing Anglican Communion looks like. \nWhether you are curious about the future of our faith tradition or interested in connecting with international Anglican thought leaders\, this is a day of learning you won’t want to miss. \nFor more information and to register\, click here to visit EDS’ website.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Irish Poet Pádraig Ó Tuama
DESCRIPTION:How do we connect prayer with activism? How do we braid poetry to power? Join us for this upcoming speaking event and Sunday worship with poet Pádraig Ó Tuama. \nPádraig Ó Tuama hosts Poetry Unbound—the podcast produced by On Being Studios and the author of an anthology of the same name. His poetry is empathetic and spiritually reflective\, with a goal of connecting people to the Divine and to each other. From 2014 to 2019\, Ó Tuama was the leader of the Corrymeela Community\, Ireland’s oldest peace and reconciliation organization\, which works with over 10\,000 people a year to transform division through human encounters. The divisions have been caused by on sectarianism\, marginalization\, public theology\, and the legacies of conflict. Ó Tuama lives in Ireland. \nRegister online here.

SUMMARY:2024 Go! Summit: Community in the Communion
DESCRIPTION:2024 Go! Summit: Community in the Communion: Nourishing Lives\, Healing History\, and Building Healthy Partnerships\nJoin us we explore the importance and transformative power of partnership. We will discuss the historic imbalances of power within the Anglican Communion and the vital need for partnerships across the Communion that are equitable and based in relationship rather than ego. The goal of this conference is to not only educate attendees on important aspects of global mission\, but to also offer ways for people to get involved. To that end\, our speakers will include Beth-Sarah Wright\, who will be discussing the Dignity Sewing Ministry in partnership with the Diocese of Cape Coast\, and Terry Franzen\, who will be discussing the development of her organization Haiti Companions. Tickets are $10 and include a light breakfast and lunch. \nRegister Here
