God is a song that needs a choir, not just sections or soloists. The Christian needs the Jew, the Muslim, the Hindu, the Buddhist and the “spiritual but not religious.” We need the scientist, the agnostic and the atheist. Without a commitment to listen to each other and to myself… Without a commitment to listen for the voice of the Universe’s never ceasing, healing, kind whisper, the best we’ll ever do is make religion a lonely island. Or, be trapped in the echo chamber of our deepest fears. What a shame that would be. We’re made for so much more.

Coro

Dios es una canción que necesita un coro, no solo secciones o solistas. El Cristiano necesita al Judío, el Musulmán, el Hindú, el Budista y el “espiritual pero no religioso.” Necesitamos al científico, al agnóstico y a los ateos. Sin el compromiso de escucharnos unos a otros y a mí mismo… Sin un compromiso de escuchar la voz del Universo que nunca cesa, es curativa, y es un amable susurro, lo mejor que haremos será convertir a la religión en una isla solitaria. O, estar atrapados en la cámara de eco de nuestros miedos más profundos. Qué lástima sería eso. Estamos hechos para mucho más.
