So many volunteers and organizing hours go into Vacation Bible School that fewer churches are offering VBS after the pandemic. For the week of June 16-20 however, five parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta will buck that trend by partnering to provide full-day programming for children entering kindergarten through rising fifth-graders.

In Atlanta, a longtime refugee resettlement area where 80 newly arrived families were stranded, Episcopalians mobilized with remarkable speed and results. Now, what’s needed immediately are volunteers to help refugee families adjust.

To sing in the choir or join communion at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Columbus, you needed the ability to climb: two stories to the choir loft, three steps to the altar rail. Today those barriers are gone after the recent renovation funded by a capital campaign with the slogan “Making Room for All.”
