Episcopal Learning Programs Bridge the “Summer Slide” for At-Risk Students

The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta is celebrating the ongoing impact of its Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom Schools® summer programs in Atlanta and Macon. Bishop Rob Wright said both programs have proven to close the achievement gap by improving literacy and learning for children who face poverty and lack access to the educational resources they need to succeed. The diocese’s first Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools® program in 2015 was on the campus of Emmaus House in the Peoplestown neighborhood of Atlanta. Acorns To Trees With St. B’s: Introducing Spanish To Early Learners

The original 4-Part Series, "Acorns to Trees with St. B's," is an opportunity for St. Benedict's Episcopal School (STBS) to introduce Spanish to families of early learners in the broader community using music, song, and interactive lessons. Initial Lessons will range from numbers, weather, and time of day to the days of the week.
