SUMMARY:Macon Martyrs Remembrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The Middle Georgia community is cordially invited to participate in the Macon Martyrs Remembrance Ceremony at the historic Douglass Theatre. \nThe names of 15 Black men lynched in Middle Georgia between 1886 and 1922 will be called. \nThe commemoration marks the 10th anniversary since the permanent bronze marker was installed by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. \nThe liturgy will include traditional African libation and bell ringing. \nAn informal lobby reception will follow the ceremony. \nThis event is free. No RSVP is required.
