Alive!

Jesus is alive! Thank God! That means God won’t be ignored, can’t be controlled, and refuses to be bought off. Jesus is alive, which means what we mock, betray, lock up, bury, and leave for dead—God can redeem. Jesus is alive, what we call futile, God calls fertile. Jesus is alive means God can make wonders out of what we, in our ignorance, waste and work against. Jesus is alive is a glimpse into reality itself: that love is stronger than death and faith is more potent than fear. Out of the worst we could do to someone, God has made resurrection, redemption, and reconciliation. Jesus is alive- means that God is real, able, good and generous- willing and ready to act in human history. And that makes a living Jesus very dangerous for the brutal, the selfish, and the indifferent, because love will not leave them unbothered. A living Jesus is dangerous because he helps the wounded walk and gives a purpose and courage to those the world tramples. Ultimately, Jesus alive is a steady-force, that ignites faith and releases a defiant, contagious strength and joy into the world. And so since Jesus is alive, we proclaim Resurrection as THE eternal truth. So we persevere in resisting evil. We refuse despair. We stand with the wounded, weary and abused. And we stand secure in the fact that love is overthrowing everything that is not love. Because Jesus is alive, death cannot have the last word.

¡Jesús está vivo! ¡Gracias a Dios! Eso significa que Dios no será ignorado, no puede ser controlado y se niega a ser comprado. Jesús está vivo, lo que significa que lo que nos burlamos, traicionamos, encerramos, enterramos y lo que dejamos por muerto; Dios lo puede redimir. Jesús está vivo; lo que nosotros llamamos inútil, Dios llama fértil. Jesús está vivo; eso significa que Dios puede hacer maravillas con lo que nosotros, en nuestra ignorancia, desperdiciamos y trabajamos en contra. Jesús está vivo; esto es una mirada a la verdad suprema: el amor es más fuerte que la muerte y la fe es más poderosa que el miedo. De lo peor que podríamos hacerle a alguien, Dios ha hecho la resurrección, la redención y la reconciliación.Jesús está vivo; esto significa que Dios es real, capaz, bueno, generoso, dispuesto y listo para actuar en la historia humana. Y eso hace que un Jesús vivo sea muy peligroso para los crueles, los egoístas y los indiferentes, porque su eterno amor no les permitirá continuar siendo indiferentes. Un Jesús vivo es peligroso porque ayuda a los heridos a caminar y da un propósito y coraje a aquellos que el mundo pisotea. En última instancia, Jesús vivo es una fuerza constante, que enciende la fe y nos libera con una fuerza contagiosa y llena de alegría en el mundo. Y así, sabiendo que Jesús está vivo, proclamamos la Resurrección como La Verdad Eterna. Así que perseveramos en resistir el mal. Rechazamos la desesperación. Estamos con los heridos, cansados y maltratados. Y estamos seguros del hecho de que el amor está derrocando todo lo que no es amor. Debido a que Jesús está vivo, la muerte no puede tener la última palabra.
