The Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial Healing is seeking individuals to serve as Pilgrim Leaders for its Pilgrimage of Racial Healing program. This unique initiative offers a sacred opportunity to guide others through a journey of reflection, truth-telling, and transformation, fostering leadership dedicated to restoring dignity and justice.

Pilgrimages, offered both virtually and in person, create brave spaces for sharing stories, confronting systemic injustice, and rediscovering human dignity as central to God’s vision of justice. Pilgrim Leaders are invited to walk alongside participants, facilitating spiritual reflection and community restoration.

Applicants need not have prior facilitation experience; the Center provides comprehensive training, resources, and ongoing support. What matters most is a commitment to justice, openness to learning, and a willingness to be fully present. Pilgrim Leaders serve in pairs, receive a stipend for each pilgrimage, and benefit from a supportive network and professional development opportunities.

Rooted in the Episcopal Baptismal Covenant and enriched by Christian scripture, the program warmly welcomes people of all faiths.
