Jesus sounds a lot like Jack Nicholson when Jack says, “you can’t handle the truth! ” But, that’s where the comparison ends. Because truth is difficult to handle, Jesus follows up by saying, that we can depend on the “Spirit of truth to be our guide.” A great indicator that we are growing as followers of Jesus is the amount of truth that we can hear and handle. With the Spirit’s aid, a follower of Jesus will move from fragility to formidable when facing truths, even piercing truths. Because, ultimately truth glorifies God. And because wondrously, there is no truth about us that God cannot embrace and heal.

Verdad

Con la ayuda del Espíritu, un seguidor de Jesús pasará de la fragilidad a lo edificante cuando se enfrente a las verdades, incluso a las verdades que penetran profundo. Porque, en última instancia, la verdad glorifica a Dios. Y porque, maravillosamente, no existe una verdad sobre nosotros que Dios no pueda abrazar y sanar.
