How do we respond when the winds of division, uncertainty and despair that threatens to blow us off our center? I get that question a lot. Here’s my answer, we go deep into what we believe! For the next few weeks, I want to remind us of who we are and whose we are by offering a reflection series entitled, We Believe! I chose this title because what we believe defines us, consoles us and guides us no matter the seasons of life. Jesus said, “…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Our treasure is God! Our treasure is the gift of faith. Our treasure is that faith is an active relationship of trust not just intellectual assent to a concept. We believe in a God who is wondrous, good, merciful and near.

¿Cómo respondemos cuando los vientos de división, incertidumbre y desesperación amenazan con movernos de nuestro centro? Me hacen mucho esa pregunta, y aquí está mi respuesta: ¡vamos a profundizar en lo que creemos! Durante las próximas semanas, quiero recordarnos quiénes somos y de quiénes somos ofreciendo una serie de reflexiones titulada ¡Nosotros Creemos! Elegí este título porque lo que creemos nos define, nos consuela y nos guía sin importar las situaciones de la vida. Jesús dijo: “…donde esté tu tesoro, allí estará también tu corazón.” ¡Nuestro tesoro es Dios! Nuestro tesoro es el don de la fe. Nuestro tesoro es que la fe es una relación activa de confianza, no solo el asentimiento intelectual a un concepto. Creemos en un Dios que es maravilloso, bueno, misericordioso y cercano.
