“We believe in one God…” is what we say. One God living and true yet experienced in three ways- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Some say, Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Either way, the truth of God is power, presence and persistence. My hope is that as you think of and live for God you are rescued from the small confines of yourself and delivered to the truth of God that no one can own. Jesus was always getting himself in trouble with the religious folks that wanted a God that they could predict and control. More “We” and less “God.” But, Jesus was inviting them on a ride based on a relationship of trust. From this vertical orientation we learn how best to parse and practice life on the horizontal plane.

“Creemos en un solo Dios…” es lo que decimos. Un Dios vivo y verdadero pero experimentado en tres caminos: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Algunos dicen, Creador, Redentor y Sustentador. De cualquier manera, la verdad de Dios es poder, presencia y persistencia. Mi esperanza es que mientras piensas y vives para Dios, seas rescatado de los pequeños confines de ti mismo y entregado a la verdad de Dios que nadie puede poseer. Jesús siempre se metía en problemas con las personas religiosas que querían un Dios al que pudieran predecir y controlar. Más “nosotros” y menos “Dios”. Pero, Jesús los estaba invitando a un paseo basado en una relación de confianza. A partir de esta orientación vertical aprendemos la mejor manera de analizar y practicar la vida en el plano horizontal.
