Striving for Justice Series: Implicit Bias

May 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry continues their Striving for Justice Series conversations this month focusing on Implicit Bias.

We all view the world with various implicit biases, attitudes toward a person or group of people that operate on a subconscious level. Often, these attitudes are contrary to strongly held beliefs. So how do we address the power of our own implicit bias in order to move to a radically better place on issues of race and difference in our country?

Join this virtual gathering where we will discuss Implicit Bias based on the TED Talks “We All Have Implicit Bias” and “How to Overcome our Biases? Walk Boldly Toward Them.” Simply watch these two talks then join in on the discussion.

In addition to the TED Talks, the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry invites you to take these self-assessments to examine your own implicit bias. They can be found here and here.

If you are unable to join this May, this virtual conversation will also take place on June 27.
