Everyone is Welcome!
Please join Christ Church, St. Francis, All Saints, and St. Paul’s Macon in a screening of the newly released documentary The Philadelphia Eleven.
This event will take place at The Douglass Theatre in Macon on Sunday, November 5th. The Philadelphia Eleven recounts the ordination of the first women into the Episcopal Priesthood 50 years ago in 1974. This film not only commemorates the courage of these eleven women and those who stood with them, but it also invites us to ask how we may continue to celebrate an inclusive priesthood, church, and world.

Lester was the first woman priest in the Atlanta Diocese, ordained at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Macon in 1977. Her legacy of courage and compassion continues to inspire us today.
