The Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) invites you to a day-long public symposium, “Living Postcolonial Anglicanism: Prospects for a Polycentric Anglican Communion,” right here in Atlanta!

On Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. Luke’s, Atlanta, you can join leaders from ten countries across the global Anglican Communion, along with U.S. clergy and lay leaders, to discuss the exciting and challenging shifts happening in our church.

Why this matters: Anglicanism is experiencing a significant demographic shift, with its center of gravity moving toward Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This symposium will tackle essential topics like women’s leadership, self-determination of Indigenous peoples, ecojustice, human sexuality, and how we reimagine the structures of the Communion in light of these global changes. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from international scholars as they explore what a more pluralistic, embodied, and freeing Anglican Communion looks like.
